In 2009 James Barnard got introduced to the Compressed Natural Gas sector by joining a
company specializing in the sale of natural gas. This
gave him a solid base of experience and understanding of the natural gas market and the
shortcomings and opportunities therein. In 2014 he began a business as a consultant and
technician to the compressed natural gas market which in subsequent years evolved into the
company as it is now,

In 2016 James was introduced to a mechanical specialist with the name of Stéphan Grobler and a company was registered with the name of CNG Africa.
